About Hornsey Housing Trust

‘Hornsey Housing Trust exists to be a provider of good quality housing and care and support services to older and vulnerable people - placing service users and tenants at the centre of everything we do’

Hornsey Housing Trust is committed to values which are:

  • focused on its customers
  • driven to achieve the highest of standards
  • based on openess and integrity
  • responsive to the needs and aspirations of a diverse and changing population
  • Positive, encouraging and enabling

Our strategic planning process is prepared in consultation with the following stakeholders:

  • Board members
  • Tenants’ Federation
  • Staff
  • Haringey Council
  • Haringey Primary Care Trusts
  • Local voluntary organisations and community groups
  • Housing Corporation
  • Funders and Lenders
  • Partners in delivering services and new homes

A strategic plan is used as the basis of establishing performance targets for staff, and progress is reported to the Board and key stakeholders quarterly.

Our close partnerships with local authorities and other RSLs enable us to provide a local service to communities in Haringey. Most of our Board members live locally.

Our tenants are involved in monitoring our performance, recruiting staff and in decisions about the future.

  • The Tenants Federation is elected by tenants and service users.  A representative of the Federation sits on the Board
  • Nearly half of our tenants are from ethnic minority backgrounds, our staff speak 22 languages so we can be sure everyone’s needs are understood

Much of our stock is already at Decent Homes standard and we are working to Decent Homes Plus.  We provide a local and responsive maintenance service.
